About the University
University Geomedi is a higher education institution that has passed a productive and creative path since its foundation. The University was established in 1998 by Professor Marina Pirtskhalava. Geomedi is authorized university, which successfully implements accredited higher education programs. Learning and assessment process are regulated by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Geomedi is one of the most successful higher education institutions in Georgia. About Professor Marina Pirtskhalava:
Professor Marina Pirtskhalava is the founder and rector of University Geomedi. She has received numerous honors and awards throughout her career. She has published more than 87 scientific works and is the author of 4 monographic publications.
Professor Marina Pirtskhalava was awarded many times for her scientific and pedagogical work. She also does international scientific activities for what she was elected as a rightful member of the Cambridge international biographical association and awarded her with the title FIBA. In 2000, she became a member of the American biographical institute, which awarded her with the “key award” and in 2001 named her as “woman of the year”. In 2001, Prof. Marina Pirtskhalava was rewarded with the gold medal from Cambridge international biographical institute for her merit in biochemistry. In 2002, she was awarded with marble plate from American biographical institute. In 2003, the magazine “who is who” published the article about Professor Marina Pirtskhalava’s work and life achievements in its eighth edition. She was also named as “the world intellectual of 2002-2003 years”. Mrs. Marina Pirtskhalava was recognized as one of the famous European of the XXI century. She speaks Georgian, Russian and English languages.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE
Faculty of Medicine of the University Geomedi represents major academic and administrative unit, which provides students with the academic freedom and autonomy within the framework of the preparation of the medical specialties and awarding appropriate qualifications, also carries out educational programs and scientific research in medicine. It provides students and faculty personnel with the best conditions for learning, and scientific research; so they can be ensured to receive education based on modern standards in the relevant field of science, and continue to improve the training and scientific conditions.
The certified Medical Doctor’s program aims at training competitive and qualified graduates with relevant competences that will help them to further their professional development on domestic and international labor markets and continue their studying in residency, post diploma education courses alternative to residency (professional preparation), implementing the research in theoretical fields of medicine and in other areas of healthcare, which does not imply independent medical activities.

Anatomy Hall
The Anatomy plays anpivotal role in teaching and trainingfuture doctors. A newly renovated AnatomyHall at University Geomedi gives studentsOpportunities to be trained in allbranches of Human Anatomy usingtraditional and innovative methods.The Hall is equipped with the latest technical provisions needed for contemporary teaching approach in the field. These include: 3D anatomy table, printed human anatomy atlases, dry and wet preparations, educational videos and animations, 3D anatomy atlas. All lecture rooms in Anatomy block are equipped with computers, projectors, all types of phantoms and models light microscopes.
Molecular Medicine andPathomorphological Laboratories
Laboratory and other practical work is a necessary part of the learning experience of most students, especially in the Medical field. It gives students opportunities to deepen their knowledge in basic medical disciplines and develop basic skills of observation, classification, inference, procedure generation, collecting and interpreting appropriate data.
Molecular Medicine and PathomorphologicalLaboratories at our university include exploratory and instrumental research rooms, equipped with the modern medical and computer techniques. The laboratory staff is actively involved in teaching process.
Library
Thelibrary at Geomedi has rich printed and electronic funds and maximally meet the needs of consumers using modern technologies. It maintains a full collection of academic resources and provides users with engaging learning experiences and great services that allow people to discover and integrate reliable information in new ways. The library, according to the requirements, offers a variety of resources and services to its users including learning and auxiliary spaces: reading hall, book archive, library staff office space, consultation, computer, and copy rooms. The library works every day during university hours except Sunday and official holidays.
Conference Hall
There are two conference halls available for holding students conferences, seminars, workshops, other varieties of events. They are designed in modern style and is equipped with air-conditioning system and newest technologies, such as all in one touch screen and built-in projector.
Examination center
Students have access to a state-of-the-art, European Level Examination Center, which provides a calm and comfortable environment for students to take the exams. The goal of the examination center is to create a unified, internal examination system at the university, which ensures a transparent, objective and fair assessment of students’ knowledge, skills, and competences, also enhances the quality of the university’s educational level.
SIMULATION MEDICINE CLINIC
Simulation Medicine Clinic at University Geomedi is a structural unit of the Faculty of Medicine and it is equipped with relevant teaching materials (simulation models, medical instruments, computer technologies, etc.). A clinic-like environment enables students to develop clinical skills and feel the responsibility that is characteristic to the clinical situation, discuss anatomical-physiological situations, perform basic medical manipulations using modern medical technologies. Problem-oriented Examination – OSCE (Objectively Structured Clinical Exam) is also conducted here. The OSCE is used to evaluate the clinical competencies of students (clinical skills).

Geomedi Dental Clinic was established in order to provide quality clinical education for the next generation of dental professionals and increase access to comprehensive dental care for the members of the public. The clinic is equipped with modern technologies, enabling students to train in dentistry under the supervision of professors and experienced dentists.

German Hospital
Our students have the opportunity to undergo medical training at many leading hospitals in Tbilisi. These include multiprofile university-Affiliated "German Hospital". The supervisory board of the hospital is presented by Professors of the Technical University of Munich. Students of University Geomedi will able to gain knowledge and clinical practice in accordance with high standards of German education without leaving Georgia, and will have a possibility to be involved in the University-based clinical researches along with Georgian and German professors.

Academician N. Kipshidze Central University Clinic -also called "Republican Hospital" was opened in 1973 and Many doctors have been trained on the basis of this hospital. It operates on an inpatient basis, making 24-hour medical care available. In 2008, a new type, the high-tech Emergency department was opened here, which boasts with its highly qualified specialists.
Students here can be trained in various fields of medicine, such as: internal medicine, Cardiology, surgery, diagnostics, gynecology, neurology, traumatology, etc.
Evex Medical Corporation
"Evex Medical Corporation" is the largest hospital and clinic network not only in Georgia, but Caucasus region, is currently represented by 18 hospitals and numerous clinics in Georgia.It focuses on patient-tailored medical services in the hospital network that are close to international medical standards (JCI). The corporation teamed up with University Geomedi in 2017.

The hard work, determination and resilience of 12th semester medical students have paid off, 60 graduates of the Faculty of Medicine Obtained their Diplomas and entered the new world of medical practice this year. Successful graduates are the most important quality indicator in higher education. The employment rate of our graduates is 84%. Our alumni has also high rate passing FMGE/MCI exams.
